Carl Monty is a self-taught musician who, from an early age, fell in love with all things musical. He considers his style as mostly pop-rock with some jazz fusion, a side of bluesy funk, and latin influenced rhythms. Braintrust is, for now, a fictitious group. Ray Soave has written (or rewrote) these tunes, performing on Guitar and Vocals. I play Upright Bass. Perhaps the future will bring Rick Freiling into the fold on Drums. Only time will tell…for now here are some cool, old-timey, tunes to chill with.
Crackpot Edison was a Rock and Roll cover band (with a few originals thrown in for good measure) in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. The group featured Roanne Welsh; Rhythm Guitar and Lead Vocals, Ray Soave; Lead Guitar, Rick Freiling; Drums, and myself; Bass (Lead Vocals on Fare Thee Well).
The Wiki Sessions are an unusual compilation that will continue to grow in the future. Wikiloops is an online community of musicians from all over the world that share original music. Anyone can download, perform with, remix, and repost the music. “Rainbow in Her Sky,” features Alice Leonz; Vocals (Indonesia), Hurzel; Keyboards (Germany), Andreas; Guitar (Germany), Martin; Drums (Spain), and myself on Upright Bass and Mixer. “A Promise From the Sun,” features Pat Kleisch; Acoustic Guitar (Germany), Alice Leonz; Vocals (Indonesia), and myself; Bass Guitar, Percussion, and Mixer.
